A: One may use phone, duo push or DUO passcode verification to log in to corp network.

How it Works:
  1. Initiate Login: Start logging into a service that uses Duo MFA.
  2. Select Passcode: When prompted for a second factor, choose the "Enter a Passcode" or "Passcode" option.
  3. Get the Code:
    • Duo Mobile App: Open the app for a Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) code.
    • SMS: Click "Text me new codes" to get a batch of codes via text message.
    • Hardware Token: Press the button on your physical token.
  4. Enter the Code: Type the generated passcode into the login field or the Duo prompt.
  5. Log In: Complete the login process. 
When to Use Passcodes:
  • No Internet/Cellular Service: Passcodes (especially SMS or hardware tokens) work offline.
  • Administrator Request: Your organization might require codes for specific logins.
  • Fallback: If Duo Push fails or you cancel it.

  • Batch Codes: SMS provides multiple codes; a new batch invalidates old ones.
  • Security: Passcodes add a crucial second layer to your password.
