MPOW Speaker & Microphone

***

Relevant Material: "Setting up an MPOW speaker and microphone involves pairing the device via Bluetooth or connecting it with a wired connection (USB or 3.5mm jack), and then selecting it as the default audio device in your device's sound settings.

General Setup Instructions
1. Device Pairing/Connection
  • Bluetooth (Wireless):
    • Turn on the MPOW device (speaker or headset).
    • Put the device into pairing mode by pressing and holding the Multi-Function Button (MFB), often labeled "MPOW" or a power icon, until the LED indicator flashes red and blue or red and white.
    • On your computer, phone, or tablet, go to Bluetooth settings.
    • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
    • Select the MPOW device name from the list of available devices to connect.
  • Wired (USB or 3.5mm):
    • For many MPOW headsets (like the HC6 or 071), you can connect using a USB-A cable or a 3.5mm audio jack.
    • Simply plug the appropriate connector into your device's port. The computer should automatically detect it.
2. Configure Sound Settings (PC/Mac)
After connecting, you need to ensure your system is using the MPOW device for both sound output (speaker) and input (microphone).
  • Windows:
    1. Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Open Sound settings or Sound Control Panel.
    2. In the Sound window, go to the Playback tab (for speakers) and select your MPOW device as the Default Device. Note: For some headsets (like the HC5), select the "Headset" option for calls, which has a dedicated mic channel.
    3. Go to the Recording tab (for microphone) and select your MPOW device as the Default Device.
    4. Ensure that your apps have permission to access the microphone in your Windows Privacy settings.
  • Mac:
    1. Open the Apple menu and select System Settings (or System Preferences), then click on Sound.
    2. Select the Output tab and choose your MPOW device as the speaker.
    3. Select the Input tab and choose your MPOW device as the microphone.
Common Troubleshooting Tips
  • No Microphone Input: If you can hear sound but the microphone isn't working, check your system's sound settings as described above to ensure the MPOW mic is selected as the default input device.
  • Mute Function: Be aware that the physical mute button on some MPOW devices may only work with cell phones; for PC software (Skype, Zoom, MS Teams), you may need to use the mute function within the application itself.
  • Pairing Issues: If the device won't pair, try clearing existing paired devices from the MPOW unit (refer to your specific model's manual for the button combination, e.g., hold MFB and Volume+ simultaneously for 4 seconds) and attempt the pairing process again.
  • App-Specific Settings: Most calling or recording applications (Zoom, Skype, etc.) have their own internal audio settings. Verify that your MPOW speaker and microphone are selected within that specific app's settings.
For detailed instructions and specific button combinations for your model, refer to the user manual provided by MPOW or check the MPOW FAQs page. .." (Google)
